Have you ever heard someone say, "God helps those who help themselves"?

This is quite a different thing than the trust we see displayed today in God, and in God's chosen King David, by those under King David's early reign.

Even Joab displays a different type of faith than modern America: "Be strong, and let us use our strength for our people and for the cities of our God, and may the Lord do what seems good to him."

O Lord, increase our faith!
