Yesterday, Scottsdale Bible Church celebrated its International Missions Festival, Celebrate the Harvest. This large celebration happens only once every three years, and this year brought over 90 people from all over the world to Scottsdale.
One of the highlights of the festival was a message brought by Egyptian pastor Dr. Sameh Maurice. Dr. Maurice pastors the largest evangelical church in all of the Middle East, Kasr El Dobara Evangelical Church.
Our view of Christianity, unfortunately, is greatly shaped by the wealth of America, and therefore clouds our view.
Dr. Maurice shares how they are seeing miracles of God using Gideon's ancient tools of war: a trumpet, a clay pot, and a candle.
I cannot urge you highly enough to take 40 minutes and watch this video. When you hear Dr. Maurice's testimony of miraculous lights, whole villages dreaming the same dream in a single night, and of people coming from remote areas of Egypt looking for the Bible that angels told them to get, it will certainly make you scratch your head.
This testimony will do one of three things:
- it will produce scoffers who will run away crying nonsense.
- it will produce those who are of weak mind, and gullible to the spectacle, to tell of, and focus on the spectacle.
- or, it will challenge us greatly, thank God for his wonder, and desperately seek to wield the trumpet, clay pot, and candle for ourselves.
