This particular recession has been very difficult for millions in our country. There is not a family in America that hasn't been touched, in some way, by this stupefying event. In fact, the whole world shudders under this one.
Having said that, to consider Dr. John Piper's bold statement that this painful event is ordained by God, will make many people cringe. Many, in fact, might go as far as to call him a madman.
Here's the thing. A great many of God's teachings make the natural mind vomit.
The Bible is clear: God is Sovereign. That means that God created, allowed, permitted, or in some fashion ordained this mess!
