No man or woman can watch this video and not be deeply moved. God has written His moral code on the hearts of everyone. When we see true love in action (clearly displayed in this video), it cuts through the hardness of our hearts to that deep place where the image of God resides and creates in us a longing to respond to Him. I don't know about you, but the display of love in this video melts me. Feel it inside? What is that? Why are we so deeply moved at the sight of mind bending, sacrificial love?
The Bible teaches that this is a literal, personal, individual call from God, to you, to enter into an eternal relationship with Him.
Those with "hardened hearts" will reject this call. Those who live their lives solely by the reason of man, will not understand and scoff at its simplicity. But as we just learned in my last post, those whom God has elected from eternity past, will hear His effective call and will enter into an eternal relationship with Him.
Almighty God has chosen to bring us into relationship, with Himself, through the general gospel call of human beings proclaiming His word.
If you felt that calling of God, you can yourself enter into eternal life by following these very simple steps:
- Acknowledge to God that you have sinned and chosen a life apart from Him. Don't get hung up on that word sin. Have you ever done anything bad? I sure have. Then we ALL have sinned. The Bible tells us that, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23)
- The Bible further tells us that the penalty for sin is death in Romans 6:23.
- In Romans 5:8, the Bible tells us that Jesus Christ died for our sins. The father in the video was clearly showing his love for his son. Jesus Christ actually loved us enough to take the penalty of sin on Himself and die on our behalf. We are no longer guilty of the pain of sin and its corresponding eternal death.
So how does one receive this forgiveness of sin and eternal life? It couldn't be easier:
- Matthew 11:28:
- "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give your rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
- John 1:11-12:
- "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God..."
- Revelation 3:20:
- "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me."
If you are feeling the literal, personal and individual call of God to enter into a relationship with Him then pray this simple prayer:
Heavenly Father, I acknowledge that I have sinned and lived my life apart from you. Please forgive me of my sins and make me one of your own, so that I may live in eternity with you.
So...now what? Well...understand what incredible thing just happened:
- You now have eternal life and will not perish! How cool is that? John 3:16:
- "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life".
- According to Acts 3:19, your sins have been forgiven:
- "Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out"
- If your prayer was sincere and genuine then God will keep you always! John 6:37:
- "All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will certainly not cast out".
