It would seem to me that Christians "debating" Christopher Hitchens is becoming quite the spectator sport. Question: Do "debating Hitchens" smackdown events, such as this, cross the line from bringing value, to bringing spectacle? Is this the post-modern Roman Coliseum? I'm just asking?
Follow up questions: When the debate is over, who is the audience talking about? Are we bringing attention to man's ego (did you hear Wilson when he smacked down Hitchens by saying....)? Does this debate bring glory to Christ? Should this debate bring glory to Christ? Should I just shut up, and not ask the question?
