This is a photograph that I took of the Grand Canyon not too long ago. Once we reach the conclusion that God does exist then we must wonder how does he communicate and/or reveal himself to us.
Romans 1:20 states, "For since the creation of the world his invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that (those who suppress the truth) are without excuse." Paul is telling us in Romans that God is "seen" through the creation.
Since the beginning of time creation has stirred something inside man. When I stood at the precipice of the canyon and shot this photograph I didn't find myself in awe by the fact that such beauty could have been created by randomness. I found something stirring inside. It was as though creation was talking to me. In fact there have been a number of times in my life, as I looked upon nature, that I found a tear in my eye as the incredible beauty and majesty moved me.
Why is it that people are drawn to the Grand Canyon or Yosemite National Park? Why do people all over the world travel to gaze upon the beauty of our world?
I believe this is because nature (creation) speaks to us. God is creator and wants to reveal himself through his creation.
I believe that if we are honest with ourselves, we all must admit that when we gaze upon the beautiful things of this world that something indeed stirs within us.
One of my favorite things to do is to get out into nature. Since moving to Arizona, my wife and I have spent a LOT of time out in nature. When I am looking at creation, I can't help but feel it speaking to me.
I believe that this is one of the ways that God speaks to us and I go for a visit with him, in nature, as often as I can.
